Chapter Seven

The Ancient Land of Suna

“Hmmn...Who are you and how do you know my name?” asked Shin’ichi.

“What- are you serious! You don’t remember? Well I’m Cari Morano your-

“Wait did you say “Morano”? But I saw the Morano clan die eight years ago,” said Shin’ichi.

“CARI!” said the voices from down stairs. Fate, Tara, and Vincent ran up the stairs to Cari.

The sky turned pitch black and lighting bolt struck the planet. A huge cloud of smoke appeared; as tall black figure walked out of the smoke. A Kanae walked slowly towards Xeon.

“Hmmn did you get it Xeon,” asked the Kanae.

“Who are you what do you want from me!” Xeon quivered.

The Kanae touched Xeon’s forehead and said, “Shotae!”

Xeon’s eyes grew huge and red. His hair had changed shape. The mark under Xeon’s left eye grew. It was of the Kanae.

“Now then Xeon. Did you get the Jewel of Demon Souls?!” yelled the Kanae.

“Damn you don’t talk to me that way bitch! Of course I got the jewel. Did you forget that I’m the ultimate Kanae!” Yelled Xeon.

‘That’s all going to change my boy,’ thought the Kanae.

“CARI! Look out the window. It’s the Kanae!” Yelled Vincent.

Cari and Shin’ichi ran to the window. In a flash Cari and her brother leaped out of the window with Vincent right behind.

“Xeon you need to go back to Suna,” said the Kanae.

“Why? It’s not like I’m in any danger...right. RIGHT!” Yelled Xeon.

“Stop! Don’t hurt Xeon he lost his memory,” said Vincent. Xeon chuckled manically. “What's so funny Xeon,” asked Vincent.

“You don’t get it do you? I didn’t lose my memory. That Xeon doesn't exist. Besides the Kanae wouldn’t dare to hurt me,” yelled Xeon.

“What do you mean?” puzzled Cari. “You told us that the Kanae had killed your family. And that you and your brother were separated,” exclaimed Cari.

“Ha it was all a trap! You guys are really stupid!” Yelled Xeon.

“Tara you are coming with me,” Fate demanded.

“Where are we going?” asked Tara.

“We are going to the gods to figure out this mess,” said Fate.

“Won’t the others notice that we’re gone?” puzzled Tara.

“Nah. They’re going to be with that Kanae for a while.

“What do you mean a trap?” asked Vincent.

“I’m the one who killed all of the wolves in the sector. And you three are next!” yelled Xeon.

“WHAT?! YOU ARE THE BASTARD WHO IS KILLING ALL OF THE DEMONS?! WHY. ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY XEON? ANSWER ME!” Yelled Cari.

“Because we are sick and tired of you damn demons wrecking our planet!” yelled the Kanae.

“So that gives you the right to kill the demons?” asked Cari.

“Because of you demons drove us into another dimension. The four wise ones thought that we were evil creatures inhabiting Canari. But we weren’t the ones who destroyed the forests. It was the Wise Ones,” explained the Kanae.

“So let me get this straight. You Kanae want to destroy the demons because they sent you away ages ago?” asked Shin’ichi.

“You got it Demblood,” said Xeon.

“What did you call me?!” yelled Shin’ichi.

“You herd me Demblood!” yelled Xeon.

“Xeon it’s time to go,” said the Kanae.

“Fine let’s leave the Demblood’s to figure this out,” said Xeon.

The Kanae opened a portal to their home. Xeon and the Kanae were levitated into the air. Cari, Shin’ichi, and Vincent weren’t going to let them escape. They grabbed Xeon and the Kanae as they went through the portal. After that the portal was sealed shut never be opened in the same place ever again.

Tara and Fate are now at Shonii hall.

“Fate why did you bring me along?” Tara asked.

“You’ll see soon enough Tara,” said Fate.

As they continued down the hallway, Tara saw statues of the gods. The god of Wisdom, War, Death, and Light were all a lined in a row. Tara stared at them in a strange way as if she had seen them before. As Tara continued down the hallway she had bumped into Fate, who had stopped at a large door in another language.

“Why did you stop Fate?”

“Because we are here. Now don’t be too surprised Tara.”

“Why?”

Fate pushed open the huge door. It was pitch black inside the room. As Fate walked into the room the lights had turned on. Tara looked around in amazement, just like a child would.

“Fate Blitz God of death has returned from Canari with some questions,” Fate stated.

The floor was rumbling like as if an earthquake had started. Five huge pillars had come up out of the floor with almost a god at each pillar.

Cari, Shin'ichi and Vincent had fallen from the sky in another dimension where the Kanae had lived. This dimension was totally different from Canari in every way. The sky was shades of a blood red color, just as if a war was going on. Huge temples were lined in a prefect row and it seemed to go on forever. Cari’s eyes grew wide. She started to see things from her past in the land of Suna. As they walked down the road Cari had sensed no Kanae in the area. It was too quiet even for a village just as if it wasn’t disturbed in ages.

‘Why do I feel this way. Why do I remember things from here?’ thought Cari. Cari got a better look around. In the far distance she saw a statue. That statue brought back some memories of Yutaka when she was young. Cari dashed away from Shin’ichi and Vincent. She ran down the village streets like she knew where she was going.

Suddenly Cari started to have flashbacks of when she was a child running away from the Kanae. Her face was a ghost white color and a large amount of tears flowing down her face.

“NO THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING!” screamed Cari. She looked upwards and saw Yutaka.

Cari looked down to the base of the statue and saw a plaque. The plaque said ‘Those who are missed in the land of Suna.’ In the corner of Cari’s eye she saw a black figure move. She looked around and saw it go down the Village Street.

“Wait! I have to ask you something!” yelled Cari.

The figure was a female who wore a long black hooded cloak just like the Kanae would wear. The figure stopped moving for Cari to catch up with it.

“What do you want to ask me child?” the figure had asked.

“What is the story with the statue? And this is the ancient land of Suna right? What is with the Kanae?” Cari had asked the figure.

“The statue you saw back there was our old leader. Our leader has been lost for a long time age along with our most trusted demon,” answered the figure.

“But the girl is Yutaka Yamoto and I. The Kanae killed her two months ago,” Cari said sadly.

“I know that you are the girl. Because..” said the figure as she pulled down the hood, “I am Yutaka Yamoto.”

“Fate these are the gods?” asked Tara.

“No stupid those are the pillars of which the gods stand on,” replied Fate.

The gods had appeared on top of the pillars and said, “God of Wisdom Wari, God of Light Jazz, God of War Seth.”

“You got to be kidding me these are the gods!” said Tara.

“Yes, Tara you idiot,” said Fate.

“What are your questions Fate?” asked Wari.

Tara looked at Wari and smiled. Wari had long silky thick pitch-black hair with grass green eyes. Small rounded glasses were positioned at the tip of her nose.

“The reason I came up here was because of the damn Kanae! They genocide all the wolf demons!’ yelled Fate.

“I could have told you that Fate!” said Seth. Seth had short spiky blood red hair to the tips of his ears along with two of the purest sky blue color.

“Well Seth you could have told me that before I went down to Canari!” yelled Fate.

“Well you didn’t ask,” said Seth, “Oh another thing Fate, You know the wolf demon Vincent? Well he is your twin brother.”

“WHAT!” screamed Fate as she hit the floor.

Yutaka looked like she was about the age of nineteen. She had dirt brown hair that rested at the bottom of her ears. She had two lime green eyes just as a cat would have.

“Yutaka? How it’s not possible. I saw you die. I SAW YOU DIE! Why are these creatures after me?” sobbed Cari. Hot water came flowing down Cari’s cheeks as she looked at Yutaka.

“Cari don’t cry now. All can be explained in time,” Yutaka said calmly.

“Hey Shin’ichi where did Cari go off to?” asked Vincent.

“Probably to see that statue down at the end to the road,” Shin’ichi replied.

“Should we go after her or something?”

“Nah she can take care of herself she always did.”

“So you do remember her!”

“Only a few thing when we were very small.”

“So why didn’t you tell her that?”

“Because, when we were small Cari fell out of a tree and bumped her head. So she wouldn’t even remember anything when we were together.”

“Oh and you don’t want her to get all sad.”

“Yes, but we didn’t have anyone to look after us back then. I saw a portal open to this very land. I placed her into it hoping that someone would find her and take care of her.”

“And what else happened I mean why did you go north. Why didn’t you stay down there?”

“Because, the Kanae had started to genocide all of the wolves in that sector.”

“But that still doesn't explain how Cari got back into Canari.”

“Only Cari knows that and she is the only one who can destroy these hell beasts once and for all.”

“Cari come with me I think you need to see this,” said Yutaka.

Cari flowed Yutaka to an a banded temple of the Fire Lord. At the base of the temple was a crystal door lined in a diamond plate. Cari had seen this door somewhere before just as if she had a dream of this place years ago. On the crystal door was in ancient text. This ancient text was used by the four elemental gods from the dawn of time. It read ‘The one who was born with the fire in their heart would be able to call forth the ones who died. The ones who died meant the most will be brought back by the God of Death.’

“Fate wake up all ready!” said Tara as she shook Fate’s shoulder rapidly.

“Huh....? WAIT A MINUTE YOU ARE TELLING ME THAT VINCENT IS MY BROTHER HOW HIS NAME WAS BEN!” yelled Fate.

“You see he hit his head and doesn’t remember anything about his past or about you,” explained Jazz.

“But should I tell him? I mean I’ll think of him differently from now on,” said Fate.

“Do as you wish. It is your choice to tell him or not Fate,” said Wari.

“And the only one who can destroy the Kanae once and for is Cari Morano,” said Jazz.

“Yes, she it the only one who has the power,” said Seth.

Cari saw a hand plate on the far right side of the door. She walked over to it slowly. As Cari raised her right hand to the hand plate. It started to glow a blue aura. As she placed her had on the plate Cari’s body started to glow with the same blue aura. Yutaka glanced over at Cari and smiled as the huge door started to open. The room behind the door was pitch black and cold as ice. Cari started to walk into the fringed room. Even though it was pitch black Cari could see her breath. As she walked deeper into the room the lights had turned on. Along the sides of the walls were statues and one of the size and giraffe was in the center at the far end of the temple.

“Um.. Wari how are we suppose to get back where Cari and the others are at? I mean they are in a different demission,” said Tara.

“Yeah Wari how are suppose to get to them?” asked Fate.

“Uh.. don’t look at me that’s Jazz’s department.” said Wari.

“What you are laying this on me but Seth is the one who knows how to work it,” said Jazz.

“Me?! Why me,” asked Seth.

“Because you are the only one who knows how to work the stupid machine!” yelled Wari.

“WILL SOMEONE JUST SEND US THERE!” yelled Fate.

“Okay, okay I’ll do it. You guys happy now,” said Seth.

Seth got off of his pillar. Fate and Tara had followed him to a different room. Seth clapped his hands and the lights had turned on.

“Okay all you need to do is stay in the tube thing and it’ll send you where you need to go,” Seth said.

“That’s it but it’s so simple,” asked Tara.

“No I still need to type in some math stuff into the computer,” said Seth.

Tara and Fate stepped into the tube. Seth walked over to the computer and typed in a code. After he hit send the tube door shut tight and a puff of smoke let out of the tube. When the door had opened Tara and Fate where not inside of it.

“Hey Shin’ichi Cari has been gone for a long time now shouldn’t we go after her?” Vincent asked.

“NO, Cari needs to find out her past and her destiny!” glared Shin’ichi.

A puff of smoke had appeared out of no where. Vincent and Shin’ichi got into a fighting pose ready to face anything. The smoke had cleared. They saw Tara on top of Fate.

“Tara get off of me you stupid fox!” yelled Fate as she pushed Tara’s small body off of her.
