Chapter Eleven

A Change of Heart

“Fate are we there yet?” Asked Tara.

“How am I supposed to know Tara?” Said Fate.

“Just have some patience,” said Yutaka.

“Yeah, and beside we are here,” said Cari.

“Well I guess your going to stay here then?” Asked Vincent.

“Huh? No, I have a mission to do you guys,” said Cari.

“You do?” Asked Vincent.

“Yes, to destroy the Kanae once and for all,” replied Cari.

“Sir they are coming closer to the temple,” said Yina.

“I know. I already told you that I’d take care of this Yina. So please stay out of this. It’s not your place to speak in this situation,” said the Fire Lord.

As they got closer to the temple door Cari had noticed some text. The text was the same in the other temple Cari was in with Yutaka. It read, ‘The one who was born with the fire in their heart will be able to call forth the ones who died. The ones who died meant the most will be brought back by the God of Death.’

Cari ran up to the door and pushed it open with force. As some guards were behind the door.

“Stop trespassers!” Yelled one guard.

Cari didn’t care she needed to know her true past. She continued running down the hall with the guards right behind her. The others had tried to follow Cari but the guards have already caught them. At the end of the hallway Cari saw another huge door with the same ancient text on the Fire Temple’s. She pushed that door open and Cari found that inside was the Fire Lord.

He walked up towards Cari and asked, “You are the half demon and half Kanae aren’t you?”

“Well that’s what I’m told,” replied Cari.

“Where’s your brother?” He asked.

“He was right behind me, but the guards got to them,” Cari said.

“Oh really,” said the Fire Lord as he snapped his figures.

Fate, Tara, Vincent, and Shin’ichi appeared out of now where tied up. Cari looked around for Yutaka but she was no where with the others.

Cari said, “What the hell did you do with Yutaka!”

“Hmmn. Oh you mean the older demon. Well let’s just say she’s in a safe spot at the moment” said the Fire Lord.

“What do you want with her,” asked Cari.

“Nothing actually. The question is what will you do to get her back,” asked the Fire Lord.

“I’ll kill you that’s what,” replied Cari.

“Good answer but it wasn’t the one I was looking for,” he said.

“I’m not the demon you use to know. I have changed. My heart has changed as well,” said Cari.

“Now that’s the answer I was looking for,” he said.

“What do you mean by that,” she asked.

“I wanted your heart to change. And it has now you’ll protect the one’s you care dearly about isn’t that right,” responded the Fire Lord.

“And how in the hell do you know that,” she asked.

“Because, I am the same as you. I am you father,” the Fire Lord said.

“I know that. Yutaka told me everything Soji,” replied Cari.

“Yutaka has taught you well Cari,” said Soji. He snapped his figures once again and Yutaka had appeared in front of Cari.
